Is the podcast live or recorded?

The podcast is recorded, it is not live. This allows us to have a conversation that is relaxed and takes the pressure off of both of us! There is no perfection when if comes to our conversation and there is no script.

What happens once I submit my application?

I will keep your application indefinitely unless you ask me to remove it. Each show will have a micro-theme; in other words, all stories are unique to each individual but there are usually small themes that run through them. I will be keeping this in mind as I schedule interviews to ensure that there is a variety of themes within the stories told. Your information goes into a spreadsheet that I then organize based on the micro-theme.

When will I be interviewed?

if your application is chosen for a particular theme, I will reach out to you via your preferred contact method and set up a conversation to hear more about your story, answer your questions and discuss the process. If we both agree that you are a good fit for the interview (you have to be just as into it and excited as I will be! if you are unsure, we can always pause and re-connect once you decide) then we will move forward with a form for you to fill out and schedule your interview date. The receipt of an application is not a promise or obligation to be interviewed on the Podcast.

What equipment will I need for the interview?

The best set up for you is (1) a good internet connection (2) a quiet space free from distractions and background noise (3) not required but nice to have would be something like the small earbuds with the microphone attached. Most people have found that their cell phone with earbuds works really well!

Are there forms that I need to fill out?

yes, you will fill out a consent form for the interview to be completed. Up until the publication date, you are free to change your mind and remove consent.

What is the format of the interview?

the format is conversational and I do have some specific questions I will ask you such as “what does health mean to you”; “what lessons have you learned about health during your journey?”. On the application I have also asked you to think about what questions you have for me, in other words, how can I help you with anything related to physical nutrition, psychological nutrition and/or spiritual nutrition. It is my goal to provide you with new knowledge, skills, insights and/or resources to help you along your continued journey.

What if I change my mind after the interview and I don’t want it broadcast?

your consent can be withdrawn at any time up to the podcast publish date. You will be made aware of the planned publish date.

What are some things I can do to prepare?

remember that health is anything physical, psychological and spiritual for you. You can focus on just one aspect or all three. The format is conversational so a free flowing conversation is difficult to prepare for but there are a few things you can keep in mind as you are thinking about your interview: (1) a free flowing conversation needs a start point and then it tends to flow from there so do you have a first question you would like me to ask you? (2) spend some time considering your present and current health status and jot a few things down such as “what does the word health mean to me? how do I pay attention to my health today? am I where I want to be in my health journey ie: do my health actions match my personal expectations? (3) spend some time thinking about your life journey so far and jot down a few things (4) when did I first start paying attention to health and wellness? what did health mean growing up in my family? am I carrying any health “baggage” from my childhood such as eating habits, comfort foods, the meaning of celebrations etc.? what events in my journey timeline impacted my health or my recognition of the importance of health in my life?

and finally, what are some things that I have learned along the way that have shaped me and my notion of health? how would I answer the question “if I only knew then what I know now” when it comes to physical, psychological and spiritual health? how can I use what I’ve encountered on my journey to help others?
